'The Outdoor Classroom' project is designed to understand the contemporary issues that teachers and health professionals face and how an amalgamation of health and education is fundamental for the future. This research and development task explores literature, outdoor learning spaces, schools and teachers who do teach in the outdoors. Information and data collected from such ventures have been used to create a literature review, requirements and guidelines for development and implementation an outdoor classroom and examples of existing outdoor classrooms that meets the curriculum requirements.
This project has focused on a teachers perspective to acknowledge and understand the restraints of teaching in the outdoors and demonstrate how to address these restraints so that teachers and sudents can experience the unequivocal benefits of teaching in the outdoors.
